Brightly Colored

Wore this one up top to a dentist appointment and the hygienist was enthusiastic about its colorfulness. The pendant on the bottom photo was a bookmark I was given. I don't read in paper for various reasons, and also don't like the kind that pin pages since it damages the books. It was a great color though, so decided to put it into a necklace.

Yeah, I love color, although I have to say my appreciation for the whole spectrum of colors really changed once I started beading.

Working with a lot of colours does make you see them differently.

It does! In the beginning all the beads I selected were in my favorite shades of light blue, yellow and green. However the longer I beaded the more I enjoyed using beads of all colors, including greys and browns. I wanted varieties in not just color but the types of beads. So I ended up making a lot of necklaces I would never have bought but enjoyed wearing because I made them.

Seeing which colours work together is half the fun. Unexpected colour combinations sometimes pop up and you wonder why you never thought of that before...

It is! Most of my necklaces are simple single strand stringing so it's the color balance and bead combinations that make up most of my time.
