This is the last set of designs I completed. finished a week or so ago. They're smaller than the seashells, only about 11 by 8cm, and again stitched on 18 count with one strand of thread. this time I used rustico aida, which I love stitching on.
Again, putting the pics behind a cut because of size.
I just love the texture and the way it looks. It makes a pleasant change from white or antique white. I do stitch on some other colours, but neutral shades work better for things that are destined to be greetings cards because they go with more different coloured cardstock. Some colours of aida severely limit which card blanks I can use, but rustico is almost as versatile as white.
I get that. I take photos of my necklaces on a tan background because it shows the colors the best, better than white because it's less reflective and will also show up white or opal colors.
Thank you! The gingham effect was the result of 5 shades of pink, so it was a bit tricky. On a couple of the smaller hearts I skipped one shade because there were only a handful of stitches in it, and it didn't make a visible difference. I did the larger hearts correctly though.
These will go in my stash to become greetings cards. Most of my small pieces are for that purpose. When someone's birthday is coming up, or any other occasion, I can pick from my stitched pieces and make one into a personalised card.
