Did you get more crafting time last month? What new or continuing projects have you been working on?

This month's question involves shows involving crafts, from overviews like Craft in America to specific how-tos. Do you or have you watched crafting shows, and how useful do you find them?

made a new year's resolution to try to get some crafting in at least once a week and so far I'm keeping up with it o7

and... I don't think I knew crafting shows were a thing, but I don't really watch things lol

Congrats on the goal keeping!

I have not come across many myself, but in all honesty I haven't been looking. I do remember a beading one from a good decade or more ago. I was intrigued that one existed but the setup of the show itself made me impatient.

I watched Kirsty Allsop's Christmas crafting shows with some pleasure, but I don't think I have ever actually done anything I saw on the shows. There were occasional items that made me think, What a good idea! but I don't think it went any further than that!

I keep meaning to get back to my card-making. And also, to prune the contents of my craft cupboards....

The cupboard pruning will probably lead to new inspiration 🙂

And yes, having an idea for something is great but having to figure out all the prep for it can sometimes peter out the enthusiasm 😉

Craft Shows and Resolutions

Can't say I've watched any craft shows, so I can't answer to how useful they are. Most of my learning was hands-on or from books.

I've been working on 'Hubris' - a cross stitch pattern turned crochet work. 8 colors - 6 of them shades of blue - plus white and black. SO. MANY. ENDS to weave in or otherwise manage.

I lost my job mid-December, so I've had nothing but time to craft and job hunt. I've gotten a LOT of crafting done, and hope to keep up the momentum even after I start work again. If/when I start work again.

Best of luck in the job search, that's such a hard thing to go through. I'm glad that at least you have time for crafting as a way of keeping your spirits up (even if it sounds the crafting itself can have its frustrations!)

Thank you. I love crafting, and if I had some sort of income while focused on crafting, I'd be a happy camper. Crafts always come with their little headaches, but I still love what I can do with my hands.

As a stubborn elbow injury heals in physical therapy, I am excitedly diving back into crochet, but I also had a very frustrating time trying to wind some yarn yesterday—I have never had a skein keep tangling like this.

My friend rec'ed The Great Pottery Throw-down, which I have only just started, but it seems fun and inspiring!

Ouch, good luck with the elbow recovery. I had one a few months ago (which was a reinjury) but luckily things were back to normal in a week. It was difficult to do various things.

I've heard the same several times about Pottery, I will have to check it out sometime!
