Sharing some crafts I do

I'm working on my second doll's house, which is going to be the home of Sherlock Holmes, Dr Watson and Mrs Hudson, as well as incorporating a shop on the corner of the plot. I've been steadily making little things for this one including a gladstone bag for Dr Watson (because he has to have one!).



Here he is holding it so you can get an idea of scale. I repainted his face and redressed him as the original face looked like something out of Cabaret....!

Omg I love that little bag. What materials did you use for it?? One of my favorite characters also uses a gladstone and this is giving me lots of inspiration to try some new crafts out.

Thanks! It’s faux leather and cardboard for the frame. Aged with some paint and details added with gold marker pen.

The detail on the bag is amazing. I greatly admire dollhouse decor as a form of miniature sculpture, even though I don't currently do anything with dollhouses. I think your theme is brilliant. :D

!!! The bag is so cool! And that's a really neat project. Are you referencing just information from the books or also stuff like house museums for the setup?

I am a huge fan of the books, and I have been to various exhibitions and the Sherlock Holmes Museum in London several times to get ideas.

SO AWESOME!!!! And I LOVE that you're doing this for the Sherlock Holmes fandom! I can't imagine there are very many Holmes fans who have thought of making a dollhouse with actual figures/items to represent the characters! SUCH AWESOMENESS!!!! And such intricate, detailed work!!!!
